Part One

Obama and McCain  – Where do they stand on Guantanamo?

The CIA's mistreatment of detainees at Guantanamo - and the Bush

administration's authorization of such treatment - have brought

condemnation from U.S. and international critics.  As such, the

practice of torture and what to do about Guantanamo have become issues

in this year's Presidential campaign.  Howard Salter of Citizens for

Global Solutions spoke with Nathan Moore about where Barack Obama and John McCain stand.

  Part Two

Obama and McCain – Policy on Torture Techniques

According to their public statements, neither Barack Obama nor John

McCain is in line with the Bush administration on its openness to

torture techniques.  Harpers Magazine Legal Affairs contributor Scott

Horton says both candidates want to close Guantanamo and would ban

torture techniques.  But Horton says there is a real difference on how

and why they would do so.
